Reading an ECU with a V3 Interface

Once you have connected your on-bike harness or bench harness to the ECU, connect it to your USB or Log Box interface, and connect the USB cable from the interface to your PC.

Then go and open a bin file in the WRT software by going to NEW.

Select your part number and then click New.

Please note that you will only be able to open the bin file for the selected ECU if you have purchased it already, or if it is one of the free versions.  If the 'New' button is 'grayed' out or you cannot select it, this means that your account does not yet have access to this bin file.  In this case please see the support item 'Opening Bin File Definitions'.

Now click on 'Read ECU'.

Depending on your ECU it may take several minutes for the software to read the ECU.

If you do not see the 'Read ECU' button then it may not possible to read this particular ECU model.  Some ECUs cannot be read out until they are first written to (eg. most Yamaha ECUs) and some ECUs cannot be read at all (eg. 2021 Yamaha YZF-R1) but can be written to.
