Most of the time ECU flashing works without a problem but there is always the small chance that something could go wrong. ECUs from different manufacturers all have their unique characteristics as well as potential problems too.
This article is about issues encountered when writing to a BMW ECU with the
Woolich Racing Tuned software. This could occur if there was previously a problem with communication during a write operation (eg. USB cable damaged), if Windows shut down during the write operation (eg. restart after system update) or any number of other possible reasons. The
Woolich Racing Tuned software might also show an error log with a message that the write "Failed after trying to write to sector 6 or 7".
