Woolich Racing’s ‘Race Tools’ products provide your bike with additional capabilities designed for the race track.
Woolich Racing Quickshifters allow the bike to shift up in gears without needing to use the clutch or roll off the throttle by either cutting ignition or cutting fuel to the engine. The Quickshifters come in two versions, one is Quickshifter-only and uses the Woolich Strain Gauge GP Switch and the other is a Quickshifter/Autoblipper which uses the Woolich Strain Gauge GP ASG (analog strain gauge).
Woolich Strain Gauge GP Switch Quickshifter
This article is about the Quickshifter-only version (shown in the image above) and explains how to switch between 'normally open' and 'normally closed' modes. These modes refer to the internal circuit being open or closed when the shifter is not activated (ie. standby). The default mode is normally open and this is the setting required for the sensor to work with the
Woolich Racing Tuned software and
Race Tools.
To check which mode is currently set on your Quickshifter please carry out the following steps:
1) Turn the Ignition on.
2) Press and hold down the left button on the Quickshifter module.
3) Continue to hold down the left button while also pressing the right button for approximately 10 seconds until the LED display begins to flash. The current mode will be displayed as follows:
t1 indicates normally open mode t2 indicates normally closed mode
4) If t1 is shown then the setting is correct and will work with the WRT software and Race Tools. Do NOT continue to hold down both buttons as this will change the setting to t2 (normally closed mode) after approximately 3 seconds. Releasing both button while t1 is flashing will leave the Quickshifter in normally open mode.
5) If t2 is shown then the Quickshifter will not work with Woolich Racing Race Tools. In this case please continue to hold down both buttons for approx 3 seconds until t1 is displayed again. Once t1 is displayed you can release both buttons and the Quickshifter is now ready to use.
