Welcome and thank you for your interest in Woolich Racing products!
We sell products that allow you to reflash your motorcycle's ECU, so that you can tune your bike to the limit and achieve the best possible performance. Woolich Racing also offers a selection of 'Race Tools' to further increase the capabilities of your motorcycle, these including Quickshifter/Autoblipper for clutchless gear changing, Launch Control and more. To tune your bike with the Woolich Racing Software, you (or your tuner) will need to purchase: - An interface (USB or Log Box)
- Harness (either on-bike, or bench) (Some models also need an extension harness)
- Bin File (the standard binary file flashed to your ECU, and Key (licence) to tune 1 bike)
You will also need a PC to install the software and connect the interface to. This allows you to tune your bike an unlimited number of times. The hardware, and software we provide allows the maps in the ECU, to be changed by you or your Tuner. Changing the maps allows the adjustment of the air-fuel ratio to a safer mixture when changing the exhaust on a stock bike, as well as changing the ignition timing, and a host of other maps and settings. A skilled tuner is required to get the correct mixture at all RPM's, and throttle positions. A Tuning shop will normally put the bike on a dyno, and monitor the air-fuel ratio while running the bike through the RPM's. They then make changes to the fuel maps based on the results, and 'tune' your bike. For some models this can be done with the basic USB Package without removing the ECU from the bike. Other models require the ECU to be pulled out of the bike to be flashed using a bench harness. For most customers, they will prefer to take their bike to a dyno tuner to tune their motorcycle, but if you are willing to spend the time to learn how to tune your bike, and to spend the time iterating the tune to achieve a desired result, buying your own kit could be a great investment. | 2021 CBR650R/CB650R ECU Harnesses |
This article specifically relates to 2021 Honda CBR650R and CB650R models. These models cause some confusion when trying to select the correct harness to use to connect the Woolich Racing Communication Interface (Log Box or USB) to the ECU as there are 3 different versions of the 2021 CBR650R/CB650R models.
The information below helps to identify which version you have and then to understand which harness you will need to flash the ECU. #1. Has the old Honda 4 pin diagnostic plug.
This one can be flashed using the Honda Harness Type 1 (on bike), or the Honda Bench Harness Type 1.
This is usually found on a 2020 model that was sold in 2021.
#2. Has the new small 6 pin red diagnostic plug (Euro5 standard), but still uses the single wire K-Line for communications. The diagnostic plug has 4 wires (Black/blue, Orange/white, Brown, Green) This one can be read using the Honda Bench Harness Type 1, OR a Honda On-Bike Harness Type 1 with the Honda Diagnostic Converter Type 1. The grey ECU plug on this model is wired like this. 
#3. Has the new small 6 pin red diagnostic plug (Euro5 standard), but uses a new protocol to talk to the ECU. The diagnostic plug has 5/6 wires, (Black/blue, Brown, Red, White, Green). This one can now also be flashed but requires the UNIVERSAL HARNESS TYPE 4 to do it on the bike or Honda Type 12 Bench Harness for off the bike. The Grey ECU plug on this model is wired like this.

| Which Zeitronix Zt-3 Controller/Sensor Do I Have? |
Woolich Racing offers Zeitronix oxygen (O2) sensors and controllers for measuring Air:Fuel Ratio (AFR) with the Log Box communication interfaces. The Zeitronix sensors measure the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas coming out of the engine which is used to calculate the AFR. The signal from the O2 sensor is modified by the Zeitronix controller which generates a voltage which is proportional to the amount of oxygen.
A specific quantity of fuel will require a specific amount of air (oxygen) to combust completely, so more oxygen in the exhaust gas means a higher AFR was used prior to combustion.
There are currently two different versions of the Zeitronix Zt-3 O2 controllers as well as several different sensors. Each sensor is only compatible with a specific controller, if something goes wrong with your controller or sensor we will need to know which version you have in order to support you.
To determine what controller you have you can look at the color of the LED on the Zt-3 when it is powered up. To determine what sensor you have, you can measure the size of the connector and compare with the information below.
LSU 4.9 Zt-3 Controller (typically sold in our Zeitronix kits)
- Green LED visible when unit is powered, and flashes when outputting AFR data.
- Compatible with LSU 4.9 wideband sensors
The LSU 4.9 sensor unit has plug which is approximately 0.9" x 0.6" (22mm x 15mm) as shown below:
LSU 4.2 Zt-3 Controller - Yellow LED visible when unit is powered
- Compatible with LSU 4.2 wideband sensors
The LSU 4.2 sensor unit has a larger plug which is approximately 1.25" x 0.8" (32mm x 20mm) as shown below:

| Do You Support ECU Flashing for Harley Davidson? |
Woolich Racing does support flashing of ECUs for several Harley Davidson ranges including Dyna, Softail, Sportster, Street, Touring, V-Rod and Pan America amongst others.The technical skill level required to flash these ECUs is a little higher than for many of the other manufacturers so access to these products is currently limited to professional tuners. | Why Can't I Download the Free WRT Software? |
Woolich Racing provides the Woolich Racing Tuned software completely free of charge for all verified Woolich Racing customers to use. This means that anyone who has purchased all of the components required to start using the Woolich Racing Tuned software to write to their ECU will be provided access and will be able to download the free software.
A 'verified' customer is someone who has fulfilled the following requirements: - Has a current active Woolich Racing Account
- Has purchased one of our Tuning Packages required to start using the software (i.e. a tuning package including harness and communication interface)
The normal process is that a customer would make a purchase from our website, and after paying with PayPal, create a new Woolich Racing account under the same PayPal verified email address and mailing address. This then automatically assigns those products to, and verifies your WR account (i.e. account belongs to a real person with a real email and physical address).
This is an automatic process but it only works if the same email address is used for the account as well as the purchase. If a different PayPal email address is used, the automatic verification will fail and your account will need to be manually verified. If the email addresses for your Woolich Racing account and PayPal account are different please open a Support Ticket and let us know which accounts you are using and what equipment you have purchased - this will help us manually verify you account.
After your account is verified you will be able to login - Woolich Racing Customer Login - and download the free Woolich Racing Tuned software. Any future purchases that you make using your PayPal email will also be automatically credited to your Woolich Racing account.
Once your account is verified you will have access to:
- Woolich Racing Account (used to log into the website and the Woolich Racing Tuned software)
- Download and install the free Woolich Racing Tuned software on up to 3x Windows PC's
- User Guides and Installation Manuals which are relevant to your purchases
- Customer submitted MapShare Files.
- 24hr / 5days a week support through our Online Ticketing Support System handled by our Australian, UK, EU, and USA support staff, around the clock.
Unfortunately, we do not give access to the free software without a customer having the means to flash an ECU. (i.e. a Woolich Racing interface, Harness and a Bin File Definition/Key.)

| What is ECU Tuning? |
The ECU (Engine Control Unit) is a kind of computer which is commonly used in vehicles with internal combustion engines. The ECU controls the amount of fuel, ignition advance and other parameters that the internal combustion engine needs to run smoothly under the
given conditions. The ECU does this by monitoring inputs like throttle position, rpm, gear position, air temperature and coolant temperature amongst others and making decisions about how much fuel to provide, etc.
Vehicles that are manufactured for the global market are typically provided as 'stock', meaning they all have been set up the same way and designed to perform well under a wide range of conditions. Stock ECU's are generally far from optimal and are developed to allow for a wide range of riding styles, fuel quality and operational conditions. The
result of this is often a compromise between many possible conditions resulting in sub-optimal performance for any specific conditions. Significant improvements can then often be achieved through correcting the stock ECU and tuning the engine to take full advantage of it's potential.
ECU tuning is the process of updating the software that runs on your bikes ECU. This allows you to change various maps and settings in your ECU and
significantly improve the performance of your engine. The Woolich Racing Tuned software works with our products to allow you to adjust the maps and write those changes to your bike's ECU.

| What benefits can be expected from ECU tuning? |
For many riders, the desired outcome is to improve the outright performance of their motorcycle and score an impressive dyno chart and maximum power figure.
This is only one benefit that can be gained by ECU tuning, however the maximum power figure is just one element of the process, and also depends on other factors outside of the ECU flashing itself. With a good tune, you can experience better throttle response and ride-ability from the engine, safer operating temperatures, or even better fuel economy.
With an ECU flash you have flexibility around adjusting core parameters that are simply not adjustable when compared to some other tuning products. These can include parameters like fan activation temperature, RPM limiter, idle speeds as well as disable certain fault codes, deceleration fuel cut, and top speed limiters. Depending on what is available in the ECU you can also adjust ignition maps, and various other maps like ETV, traction control, injector balance and others.
Greater flexibility is available with ECU flashing, which also requires more responsibility and potential risk. It is often a good idea to take your bike to a professional. If you do decide to do it yourself, it is worth investing the time to complete our courses, read the user guides and educate yourself on the various maps and settings. It is also advisable to make small incremental changes, testing after each change. This will allow you to make changes while minimizing the chance of damaging the motorcycle.

Allows you to flash and modify your ECU maps and settings, and is designed for either the personal tuner making minor changes, using MapShare tunes, or dyno tuning.
The USB interface does not support data logging, and is not compatible with Autotune, and is not upgradable to a Logbox, please see the Logbox package.
The other option you have, is to purchase a Logbox Package that includes an air-fuel ratio sensor (AFR), and a datalogger.
Option 2. Log Box V3 + Zeitronix ZT-3 Wideband Package:
This kit allows you to do all the usual flashing and modifying of maps and settings, with the added bonus of having both AFR data, and engine data being logged to the on-board Micro SD Card in the Logbox. This setup allows the use of Autotune to automatically adjust the fuel maps with the Logged data, or Autotune Live on a dyno**. - Log Box v3
- USB Cable
- On Bike Harness
- Bin File Definitions in Woolich Racing Tuned Software
- On board 2GB micro SD card
- Zeitronix ZT-3 Wideband O2 Controller

(** Note: some bikes do not support engine data logging for Autotune, and can only use Autotune Live on a dyno. Some bikes do not support any live engine data and there is no LogBox option. For D-CAN and M-DUC ECU's there is no USB option. Please check the Products page for your bike model. Please check with the Sales Team or the Support Team if you are unsure)
You fit the Wideband AFR sensor to your exhaust, and you can then log both engine data, and AFR data to the Logbox device while you ride the bike. You then use the data logs saved in the device in the Autotune part of the software. There is a target AFR map provided in the software, and the software can make calculated adjustments to your fuel maps based on the recorded data., You do this 2-3 times, and the fuel maps should then be adjusted so you have the correct AFR at all RPM's and throttle positions.
Option 3. You can take your bike to a Woolich equipped Tune Shop, and they can do all this for you without you needing to buy any hardware. If you need the details of a reputable tuning shop near you, please Open a Support Ticket and let us know your Country/City/ZIP code.
The results of tuning when using the USB device (without any Wideband AFR sensor), will depend entirely of the skill of your selected tuner.

| Woolich Racing Tuned (WRT) Software - Getting Started |
The Woolich Racing Tuned (WRT) software allows you to tune your bike to the limit by writing a specific set of information to your engine control unit (ECU). You do not need to be a tuning expert to get great results from this software, however there are some key points to understand that will make your experience more successful and therefore more enjoyable.
We highly recommend that you read the following information carefully before getting started in order to avoid common mistakes and get the best results quickly.
ECUs are commonly used in modern vehicles and are responsible for controlling everything from the most basic functions of a combustion engine (like fuel delivery and ignition timing) to providing advanced features like traction control or engine braking.
In order for the WRT software to communicate with your ECU there are some basic things that you will need: - WRT software installed on a laptop or desktop PC.
- You can download the software here and find further support information here.
- Communication interface such as a Woolich Racing USB interface or a LogBox
- Woolich Racing provides communication interfaces for a wide range of motorcycle makes and models, you can find further information here.
- Harness - this is a set or wires and connectors which allows the communication interface to 'talk' to your ECU
- Woolich Racing provides harnesses for a wide range of motorcycle makes and models, you can find further information here.
- Part number of the ECU - there are thousands of ECUs used today and it is critical that we write the correct information specific to a given ECU and the related vehicle.
If we write the wrong information then the ECU and vehicle may not operate.
The ECU part number is unique and must be known BEFORE we can start to work with the ECU using the WRT software. Once we know the ECU part number we can typically read/write and modify all functions pertaining to tuning the vehicle.
We can find the ECU part number in a number of ways, these are described here.
- Bin file definition - a binary file or 'bin' file is saved inside the memory of every ECU and is directly linked to a corresponding ECU part number. The bin file definition contains all of specific information for how that particular vehicle functions. Bin files normally contain a set of 'maps' which allow the control of fuel supply, ignition timing etc.
Bin files can have any number of formats and it is critical that we write all of the different information into the correct places in the memory to the ECU. The bin file definition tells us exactly where to write all of the different information like ignition and fuel maps for your specific ECU.
You then will need a bin file definition corresponding to your ECU part number, these can be purchased from Woolich Racing here.

| Using Support Center and Support Tickets |
Woolich Racing offers free Customer Support, and can be accessed on our website, at woolichracing.com/support.
The Support Tickets system uses a separate login to your Woolich Racing login. So, if you have not created a Support Ticket account, try making one now. If possible, please use the same email address as you use with Woolich Racing Tuned account. This is what it will look like when you go to our support site: 
1. First, click the ‘Sign In’ button at the top right. 2. Then click on ‘Create an account’ button to create a new account. If you already have an account, then you can skip straight to step 6 below. 3. Next enter your email address, enter your name in the ‘Full Name’ box. You can enter your shop name at the end of your full name if you wish. 4. Select your country, which will help us to direct sales enquiries to the correct distributor. 5. Enter your password, make sure to remember or write it down, and then click ‘Register’. 
6. Once you have signed in, you will be taken to the ‘Open Tickets’ page, where you can see tickets that our technicians have not yet responded to. 7. To open a ticket, click the 'Open a New Ticket button. 
8. You will be taken to the New Ticket page. Make sure to select the Help Topic. 
9. Then fill out the Issue Summary, and then put more details in the box below. You can also upload additional files here. 
10. To see tickets that have been responded to, or closed, click the ‘Closed’ button on the upper right side. Tickets marked 'Closed' or 'Resolved' have been completed. Tickets marked 'Answered' have been answered by us, and are waiting for your reply. An email notification will be sent when we reply to your ticket. You can respond to the ticket by replying to the email notification or via the ticket system. Our reply to the ticket can be found in the 'Open' section. 
11. Click on the ticket, to view the ticket and add a reply. This will automatically re-open the ticket, and notify our Support Team that it is waiting in the queue to be answered. When we reply you also will receive an email notification You can also reply to the ticket by replying to the email notification which will also automatically appear in the ticket system. - DO NOT CREATE A NEW EMAIL TO REPLY TO AN EXISTING TICKET AS THIS WILL OPEN UP A BRAND-NEW TICKET.
- OPEN A NEW TICKET FOR A NEW ISSUE: replying to an old ticket with a new issue will make it harder for us to respond to your ticket.

| If I buy the kit for my bike, how can I find out what features are available for it? |
To find out what features are available for a model, go to Product page for that model, and then scroll down to the 'Bin File Definitions' section on the Woolich Racing website.
In this example let us consider the 2015 Honda CBR1000RR.
1. Go to the Products page, and click on the Honda logo, then select the year '2015' link for the CBR1000RR.
2. Then you will be taken to the products page for this bike.
3. Please click on any of the Product Packages, or scroll down until you reach the 'Bin File Definitions' section of the products page.
Here you can see the full list of features that are available for a specific model and find the list of ECU part numbers that are currently supported in our software for that bin file and motorcycle.

| What is the difference between the USB Interface and the Log Box Interface? |
The Woolich Racing Tuned software which runs on a computer communicates with the ECU using an electronic interface. There are two types of Woolich Racing interfaces currently available for sale; a USB v3 interface, and a Log Box v3 interface.
USB v3 interface
Log Box v3 interface
A USB interface allows you to read and write to an ECU, access diagnostics (for bin files which have it available) and view some live engine data. The USB interfaces are not compatible with some of the newer models. Please check the products page for a model to determine which interfaces are supported. A Log Box interface can do everything that a USB can, and also allow you to record engine data while running the bike and log AFR (Air-fuel ratio) data when used together with the Zeitronix ZT-3/ZT-4 wideband sensor kit (model dependent). These additional features on the Log Box also allow you to use our Woolich Racing AutoTune feature in the WRT software. The letter on the interface denotes what ECU type it is capable of flashing. - B: Bosch ECU's
- D: Denso ECU's
- D-CAN: Denso ECU's using CAN Bus protocols
- K: Keihin ECU's
- M: Mitsubishi ECU's
- M-Duc: Mitsubishi-Ducati ECU's
- H: Harley Davidson ECU's (only for approved tuning shops)

| What if your ECU part number is not listed on our website? |
You can do a quick Google search to see if your ECU part number is supported by our products. Simply search for 'Woolich Racing' + the ECU part number like so:  If there is a match then you will see the part number tagged on the website search.
If you cannot find the part number listed in the list of part numbers on the website, then the ECU bin file needs to be read out and sent in.  ECU part numbers are listed in the 'Bin File Definitions' section on each model's product page
If your ECU part number is not listed, please contact support to double check if we we already have your part number available. In some cases you will be able read the ECU out remotely with the applicable Woolich interface and harness, for us to add into the software. Otherwise, we may ask you send in the ECU to us so we can read it out manually and add to the software.
NOTE: On some new ECU's (2021+) the number found on the ECU is not the actual ECU part number, and can only be identified once connected to the software. This includes Suzuki models like the 2021+ Hayabusa, GSX-8S, DL1050 V-Strom, GSX-S 950, GSX-S 1000 and GSX-S 1000GT. For BMW (Bosch), Ducati (M-Duc) and new D-CAN ECU's, the Part Number cannot be found externally (ie. it is not written on the outside of the casing), and you will need to use the 'Read Part Number and Serial Number' feature in the 'Tools' menu.

| Will Woolich flash my ECU for me? |
Woolich Racing offers hardware and software solutions to allow users to read and write to motorcycle ECUs, thereby applying a 'tune' for a specific motorcycle. Woolich Racing does not flash ECUs for customers.
Woolich Racing creates the hardware and software for you, or tuning shops, to tune ECUs.
You can either purchase your own tuning kit as listed on the products page and tune the ECU in your motorcycle yourself, or we can help you find a local tuner or even a tuner who accepts ECUs via the mail and flashes them with their own specific mapping.
If you'd like us to find you a tuner, please provide the year, make and model of your motorcycle along with your Country/State/City/ZIP code and we will endeavor to make recommendations for Woolich tuners in your area.

| What’s the difference between tuning your ECU with Woolich Racing and using a piggyback fuel controller system? |
A piggyback fuel controller system alters the signal after it has already been sent from the ECU to the fuel injectors. A piggyback controller then requires a harness installation, piggybacking onto the fuel injector connector, in order to alter these signals. This is then a hardware solution which ONLY modifies the fueling and nothing else. As the ECU does not know that the fuel values have been changed by the piggyback controller it is unable to compensate for other effects that this might have on other maps such as requested torque, etc.
Tuning your ECU reprograms the maps and settings at the source level inside the ECU, this provides a much larger feature set and finer control over the programming inside the ECU. Writing a complete tune to your ECU then provides much greater flexibility, performance and ultimately power to tune your bike to the limit when compared with piggyback controllers. Yes, writing to your ECU does also come with greater responsibility to ensure that it is written properly and reasonable map changes are made but all tuners are aware of this already. | How will I know if you add new features to the WRT software? |
New features are added to our Woolich Racing Tuned software on a regular basis, as requests are made by tuners and individuals.
We are always striving to add new and commonly requested models and features to the WRT software and have any associated cables manufactured as quickly as possible. The more popular the request, the more priority it gets in the ongoing development of the Software. If you have your own feature request, please let us know by Open a Support Ticket. Unfortunately, we cannot give any fixed time frames as to when new features will be released. - Some features are not possible on certain models of bikes.
- Some features may not be cost effective to implement, such as when we have many large projects going on, or the target audience is very small.

| How many computers can I use my WRT account on? |
You are able to use your WRT account on a maximum of 3 computers at the same time.
Your computer count will increase if you install the WRT software onto another PC. If you upgrade your PC to a newer version of Windows, such as Win10 or Win11, this may also count as a 'new' computer by the software.
The account will be auto-locked if you attempt to use the software on more than 3 computers.
If you are no longer using the WRT Software on one of your PC's, it is recommended that you uninstall the software, to avoid your computer count increasing again, and your account being auto-locked.
Please contact us with your account details if this happens as we are able to remove computers from your account.

| What should I include if I am returning a Product under Warranty? |
If you would like to return a Woolich Racing product under warranty please first ensure that the return complies with our Product Warranty conditions. Please also note that Wideband O2 sensors do not come with a warranty, and are considered a consumable.
To open a warranty case please Open a Support Ticket and provide us the details of the faults that you are experiencing. Our Support technicians will assist you with verifying the fault, and providing you with the return address, depending on which region you are located in.
You will need to include the following in the package sent back to us: - Proof of original purchase i.e. PayPal receipt
- Your Current Address for return shipping
- A copy of any email correspondence you have had with Woolich Racing about the problem, or your support ticket number.
We understand it can be frustrating to buy items from international suppliers, especially when things don’t go to plan.
Woolich Racing offers a Return to Base (RTB) warranty which is common practice internationally. The RTB conditions require that you pay for the cost of shipping the item to us in the event of a warranty claim. Once we receive the item and are able to test it, if it is found to be defective then Woolich Racing will pay for the costs of returning the new/replacement product back to the customer. If the item is found to be working correctly or does not comply with the warranty conditions, we will ask you to pay for the return postage also which is standard practice for RTB claims.
Once we have received your item(s), we will test, and reply to you as soon as that is done. We will endeavour to test, repair/replace, and return as soon as possible.

| Do you offer Phone Support? |
We do not offer phone support, as the majority of our customers are international, which causes language issues on the phone.
If we were to provide phone support, we cannot ask for, or send back, files/photos/screenshots/links, which is a major part of our ability to solve issues for all customers.
It also allows us to support customers 24hrs a day / 5 days a week, as we have support staff in the US, UK, EU, and Australia, and tickets can be handled around the clock, and even passed from one support staff to another for complex, or extended support.

| Woolich Racing Foundations Course (free) |
This course is designed as an introduction to the foundations and fundamentals of the Woolich Racing Ecosystem. It will guide you in the basics of how to lookup ECU part numbers, check harnesses, and general guidelines for using the Woolich Racing equipment and software.
The course can be completed in stages, so you won't need to do it all in one sitting, and you can work your way through it at your own pace. Upon successful completion of the training course, you will receive a Certificate of Graduation for the Woolich Racing Foundations Course, that you can download and print out, to proudly display.
If you have been personally selected to complete the training course, we ask that you complete it to the best of your ability, as you will need a passing grade to obtain your Certificate of Graduation.
We have also released a paid Professional Training course (find link below) which was designed for professional Tuning Shops, and provides certification for Tuning Shops upon completion.
